The Tasmanian Emergency Management Plan is the peak emergency management planning document in Tasmanaina and describes the current governance and coordination arrangements, and roles and responsibilities for emergency management in Tasmania. It sets the framework for all-hazard arrangements in Tasmania based on the requirements of State legislation, existing arrangements and accepted practices that support emergency management.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) maintains a range of plans that confirm health emergency management arrangements. Key are amongst these plans are:

  •        the DHHS Health Emergency Management Arrangements
  •        the Tasmanian Mass Casualty Management Plan
  •        the Tasmanian Public Health Emergencies Management Plan

These plans are directly supported by the arrangments described in these supporting sub-plans:

  •        Area Health Service Emergency Management Arrangements - including Hospital Code Brown Plans
  •        the Ambulance Tasmania Multi-Casualty Incident Plan
  •        the DHHS Emergency Coordination Centre Operating Procedures
  •        the National Medical Stockpile Tasmanian Distribution Plan
